The District 34 Season Opener

Here is Justin "styling" off the Spectator tabletop on his KTM 60cc by kissing the front fender of his bike in mid flight on our 68 foot tabletop.  The season opener was an especially exciting day with some of us rusty and some of us in prime condition.  Impressive for the day was Carlo's "1-1-1-1-1-1" wins (as ProRacePhotos put it).  A true champion veteran who backs up every year, every Sunday and EVERY moto with 100% committment.  Exciting action was also to be found in the new Diamond Vintage Class with Ted Bolkema and Kurt Renzland battling it out.  And how about the Women's class opener?  They were second gate drop but quickly found their way into the men's riders on their Vintage machines.  Great action and fun to watch. But when all 100 pictures were developed for this riding day there was one "photo op" that stood head and shoulders above the rest.  Justin Barcia on his 60cc KTM.  (geezz... my sub-frame is bigger than that bike when I take it off and sit it on my garage floor!) So Justin, you get the opening day photo op to start the 2003 season.  Good luck to everyone and safe riding.

Well, it was an eventful season opener and we hope to see everyone back next time.
(and, as always, get well wishes to all our riders who took spills on opening day)
