MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

"And the rains held off all day"

Second half +25 expert moto with Terry Finkle (#371) leading Carlo Coen (#1) followed by Kurt McMillen (#28).  Carlo would go on to win with Terry coming in 2nd.

Deeply overcast skies caused our automatic cameras to lose their ability to freeze action (as most compensated by defaulting to slower shutter speeds as they struggled to gather light).   Bear with us.   We salvaged what we could.

Be sure to check out these two "race reports" on this Diamond Race day by two of our local area vendors:

A big thanks to them for their attention and efforts.

Is this going to be the 2003 District 34 "Picture of the Year" ??
Remember this picture Diamondback posted way back on April 13, 2003 of Justin Barcia jumping the spectator table on his 60cc?  "click for 4/13/03 pic"    Well I was curious too (about how radical his trick looked from the side) and decided to snap another picture at today's race to satisfy my own curiousity.    "click for 5/25/03 pic"   What do all of you think?  Did the 10-11 year old 60cc class walk away with the "2003 Picture of the Year" before the season is half over?

250 Expert:   Carlo and Kurt at a complete stop for a brief moment
Kurt McMillen:  as always, doing the totally unexpected:   "monster air off the little stepup at the top of the track"

A group of fans demonstrates how you should HOLD NOTHING BACK when you are cheering for your buddy who is out there going for the "Gold" on the Diamond track !!  Rider #525 (of the 125cc novice ranks) is the lucky racer with the big fan club ("click").
