Thomas Loving
(125 novice and schoolboy) goes big every lap off the Start Table
with his energy conserving, "stand straight up" jumping style.
It was a YAMAHA DAY and Terry Finkle knew what he had
to do going 1-1 in 250 expert and 1-1 in +25 expert on
his big, blue 450 (despite major pressure from Carlo Coen and Kurt Mcmillen).
Impressive ride by Marissa Markelon. Rides Open
Mini and turns two impressive 8th places and then IMMEDIATELY takes her place on the Women's
Gate and goes 1-1 in that class too (we are talking "back to back"
motos in this July 4th heat). Then goes 4-3 in Junior Mini for a 3rd
overall for the day. 3 classes and 3 great finishes plus those "back to
back" motos.

Walking across the
bridge I hear all this excitement down in the stream.
"Hey, what's all the commotion about down there?"
"Snapping Turtles; we're catching baby snapping turtles"
(shows me some turtles in a jar)
"yup, that's a baby snapper alright"
"Want a picture for the Diamond web site?"
"SURE !" |
