Don't miss the RP Report for this Racing day.

Pictures from the 9/24 Race Day

Blackwell banks into the uphill sweeper (and digs into Diamond loam)

Carlo Coen chose a Suzuki for this day (and proceeded to paint the track "yellow")

Mini's around Diamond Pond (I really never got a good look at this before. On or off the bike.)

Dirt clod fence (seems that a favorite Diamond pastime is taking a "dirt shower")

Double Quads (quad action was close all day)

Jack and the Parrot (Jack from Walden doing the pirate thing at the end of the day).

Graduates to "expert" (tear off that yellow plate ! Tom LLoret turns +40 expert.)

Little "Jack" Coen (stopped by to check out his dad's track for the first time)

Table by the start (that is one LONG table; for 2nd gear!))

John Coen:   on track conditions (this is the left turn after the finish line double)

Mini Holeshot (I don't have a zoom lense so this was CLOSER than it looks)

Novice quad finish (Last moto is always BEST moto!!  the whole race was a "bumper".  good stuff)

Pee Wee finish  (catching a little air with the crowd looking on)

Quad finish crowd (for some reason every quad race is a cause for discussion as soon as the helmets come off)

Quad Getoff (this awesome banshee loses its rider on the rockers and careens into the scoring girls scattering them.  then the rider hops back on, while its still rolling, and holeshots in the middle of us. I run for my life but snap this picture, over my shoulder, as he heads back onto the track.)

Quad Holeshot   Fourth quad from the left did the rocker getoff in the 2nd moto. Did you know that our starter is a BMX state champ?  I like the little wheelstand on the right.)

Big smile at the gate (I thought this would be the best picture of the day.  But I cut the heads off the riders and was bummed.  Then I saw that the camera "caught" something and it became my favorite picture once again. Think you can spot it?)

And keep an eye on #961 on the right (Tom Vitale).  He gave us a great battle for the lead in 125 novice class going big on every jump.  Tom has only been racing for a little over a year now.

Spectator fence (a favorite spectator spot because you see the landings from our biggest table, the rockers, the finish line and the holeshot area in one view.)

Tommy T. Big Air (nobody, but nobody, jumps a quad like expert rider #112 Tommy Tantillo.   This is Tom on the spectator table.  He won first moto and took a wild ride into 2nd on the last. He took the overall win.)

Tommy T. Interview (and nobody, but nobody,  does interviews like Tantillo. The quad crowd has dinner together after every race and open practice.  Lots of comraderie.)

Tree Holeshot (would you believe this is Diamondback?)

Uphill Triple (mini's) (is that a big jump or what?)

Winter Pee Wee's (I like the hint of the coming "winter" in this picture.  Not much time left for the outdoor tracks.  See you next weekend.)

Here's a movie of Mike Leavitt (#113) at Diamondback.
(compliments of the Walden webmaster. Thanks Dean)

Quad riders:    Check out this club "sleddogs".
Some good 9/24 Diamond Race pictures on it too.
(( He's got that picture of the 2 quads that got "welded" together. ))
