So what were track conditions were like??? Basically a really dry loam that could be found just about everywhere.  Dust never became an issue really. Just some great riding on a schedule that progressed nicely all day.  4 lap motos all day.  By the way, the big right sweeper after the uphill triple was like a beach.  Pat Mahan said that he was never on the gas, so hard,  for so long.  This pic, contributed by photographer Roman Szymansky, pretty much illustrates what the track was like all day.

Pictures from the 11/04/01   Race Day

Rich Price (left) congratulates his good friend Art Hussey ("Huss Daddy") over his 3rd place finish in moto #1 of +30 novice.   Rich Price is the reporter for district 34 moto events and is also the track announcer for many of the Walden events.  Art, "Huss Daddy", moderates the Walden Message board.

This was a big day because BOTH Rich and Art came out to ride.  Usually Rich has a microphone in hand and razzes Art  if he loses a position of two out  on the track.  But not today!  Both had a job to do.

And it was another long, long day for George Rose.  Yes, that's our friend's name.   Thought you all might need an introduction.  See you on Sunday George !

Rocky Cassone (+40 expert) showing off his nose gear.

Pat Mahan warming up for the day's events with a nice whip.

It was good to see James McNeil back on the track (as rider #880).

Women Class:
Jill Abruzese gives us a smile for the camera.
Felicia Zavattaro, and friend, pose for a shot with Ryan Mills in backdrop. (bet you thought I was "kidding" about Ryan being in this pic!).

What race??  Let's check out the puppy.

Exact moment of the +40 gate drop.

One wants her picture taken.  Her friend hates having her picture taken..  A little tug saved the day !

Just that old guy again rolling all the jumps.

Last jump, of  the last moto, of the 2001 Diamondback season (schoolboy).

District 34 welcomes new rider; David Szymansky, schoolboy class:
David on the finish line alligator jump.
Looking sharp on the schoolboy holeshot.

(( David; remember that all of us have been riding for decades.  It takes a lot of time to develop all the skills.  And you don't develop anything if you get tweaked.   So, enjoy the sport, ride smart, and visit "Carlo" before the spring season starts. ))

About sending me pictures:  Measure them in pixels;  max width 700 pixels, max height 400 pixels. If not,  it takes a   "billboard" to display it as they are usually oversized and consume tremenedous resources.   "Crop and Resize before you email"   A picture should be about 50kb in size (give or take 25kb).
