Diamondback's biggest roller section
late in the day.
Just another angle on the big rollers.
Flagger watching a Crossup
on the spectator table.
Second half motos greeted riders with multiple lines to be had everywhere.
Sun glare became a real
issue for the riders for (about an hour sometime after 3pm.).
Just the last jump
in the last moto, of the last race of the year !
Rich Price was riding his new "outlaw quad" at Diamond
all day (and pulling big wheelies everywhere). Rich was our announcer for the day.
Pappa Joe Fritz and son
with their racer friends. (( Joe; see you on 3/11. ))
Mike Hoensch (in
+35 first moto) entering the big sweeper.
Scott Behrens ("His Royal Ratness") with his beautiful moto family. This
definitely gets my vote for best picture of the day. And be
sure to stop by Scott's new web site and leave a message: www.riverratsmx.com.
Dylan !
#113 amateur with two of his best friends. Boy, was I ever glad to see YOU after
the last 250 amateur moto at ACE . Those false neutrals can create havoc.
Backfield rockers
with some spectators high on the bank.
Ryan Mills
backdropped by that winter sky.
Mills Holeshot
(looking down from above in the first turn.)
#25 60cc rider
showing great form on the rocker double.
Would somebody please explain to me why this KDX rider has so many female fans?
(( Also had to get the "monkey" on Tom Stinson's truck in there. Anybody
still remember the "monkey beer" craze? ))
Just two riders on the spectator
table.
Mud, Mud, Mud.
(first practice was tough. track was bulldozed into two lanes here to make it easier
for the smaller bikes).
#165 (John Weinman)
has been coming to District 34 motos for over 10 years now. He had a great ride in
+30 on his KX500.
The "holeshot
mafia" on one of our utility quads. (Puddles, Puddles).
Our regular gate dropper, the NY state BMX champ, poses for
Diamond's last event of the year.
+25 expert holeshot
with Duke (#135 on a CR500) sweeping the outside line.
Imagine if this whole backfield was long straight? The first rider
is just touching the uphill triple. The last is in the lower right hand corner.
This is a BIG track.
This left handed hairpin
stayed muddy all day. The one main line was a clean one though, and you would
sweep into it at high speed after clearing the small lake table.
Oh, this just marks the END OF SEASON. Pumps going away for good.
Mills and Coen in their first moto battle. Two distinct styles are readily apparent
(coming off the small double after the rockers).
Dave Masi (#776) was
a really happy man after pulling a huge win in the first +35 moto. Dave is a +40
expert rider.
Two young 80cc riders
from the Kawasaki-Yamaha Sport Center on Route 23 in Pequanok, NJ. "Dad" runs the shop down
there.
Top of the food chain! +40 expert riders (Conboy, Crispano & "Rocky"
Cassone) all shiny and clean before the challenging practice sessions.
Mike Leavitt !! You were missed. (( But Mike was
spending the weekend at the arenacross up in Albany )). Rich Price sent me this GREAT PICTURE of Mike during
the event.
Quads ! You were missed.
So, the season is over. It was certainly a great one and
I look forward to it starting up again in early March. But, right now, I relax for a few
months and stay in shape at the
same time. So, see you in the spring (and if you need me I'll be here.)
Have a Happy New Year and enjoy the Holidays;
